One of the newest entrants to Intel's stable of processors, the P-III 550 (code-named Coppermine) has the capability of operating on a system bus speed of up to 133 MHz-fast, but nowhere near the Athlon's 200 MHz FSB.

Tested on an ASUS CUWE motherboard, which is based on the Intel 810E chipset, the processor clocked a very respectable index of 24.9 in the Winstone 99 test, over three points higher than the fastest P-III 500 tested.
